Admission Process to Our SSC Coaching :

  • Since the number of applications for admission into our SSC Coaching is far in excess of the available seats. We have chosen the principle of “first-come-first-served” as the basis of admission in our institute.
  • The candidates or their representatives are required to be present at Roy Academy office, with the duly filled-up application form with two passport size photographs, photo copy of valid photo ID & Address Proof of the candidate.
  • Payment mode: Fee is to be paid by cash / card. Fees once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances. Course fees includes: Classes, Class Tests ,Unit Tests, Mock Tests and Study Materials.
  • After admission to any of the course, if there is any indiscipline or misbehavior on the part of the students, they may be expelled, without any explanation. The right to rusticate rests solely with the management.
  • Allotment of batch is the discretion of the institute. Preference of batch may be offered to the students during admission, provided it is available.

SSC CGL Exam an Overview

 

  • Staff Selection Commission conducts Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC – CGL) for recruitment to different Central Civil posts - Assistant​ Section Officer​ / ​Assistant / ​Inspector / SI / Divisional Accountant / ​Junior ​Statistical Officer / Auditor / Accountant / Junior Accountant / UDC / Tax Assistant, for which Graduation from a recognized University is the minimum Educational Qualification required. The recruitment for these posts is done in departments of Central Secretariat Service / Intelligence Bureau / Ministry of Railways / Ministry of External Affairs / Ministry of Defence / CBI and a few other Ministries / Departments / Organisations of the Central Govt.​

  1. For post of Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor's Degree in any subject from a recognized university or institute with at least 60% in Mathematics at 12th standard level OR Bachelor's Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level

  2. Statistical Investigator Grade – II: Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University or Institute. The candidates must have studied Statistics as a subject in all the three years of the graduation course.

    • Tier –I of the CGLE will be common for all categories of posts

 

    • There will be negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer in Tier-I.

 

    • Questions will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice , set both in Hindi and English in respect of Parts A, B and C.

 

  • The questions in Reasoning, GA and English will be of a level commensurate with the Essential Qualification viz graduation and questions in Quantitative Aptitude will be of 10th standard level.

Pattern of Tier -II Examination (Computer Based):

This is the second stage of the exam and only those candidates who qualify the first stage (Tier -I) , will be allowed to sit in this exam . It is also a objective type test and Paper I and Paper II are compulsory for all the posts.

    • Questions will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice, set both in Hindi and English in respect of Paper I and III.

 

  • Questions in Paper-I will be of 10th standard level, Paper-II of 10+2 level and Paper-III of graduation level.

Pattern of Tier - III Examination:

The Commission has also decided to introduce a Descriptive Paper ( (writing of Essay/Precis/Letter /Application Writing etc) of English/Hindi as Tier-III. The Question Paper will be bilingual. The candidates will have the option to choose any one medium. This will be in Pen & paper Mode.

The maximum marks for this section (Tier III) is 100 and the duration is 60 minutes.

Pattern of Tier -IV Examination:

1. DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): FOR THE POST OF TAX ASSISTANTS (Central Excise & Income Tax): The "Data Entry Speed" Skill Test at 2000 (two thousand) key depressions for a duration of 15 (fifteen) minutes will be of qualifying nature

2. CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): The Commission will hold CPT, comprising three modules - Word Processing, Spread Sheet and Generation of Slides, for applicants for the post of Assistants of CSS. CPT will be of a qualifying nature.

    It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type.   2. General Awareness:
    Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.
  3. Quantitative Aptitude:
    The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. English Language & Comprehension: Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling/detecting mis-spelt words, idioms & phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, conversion into direct/indirect narration, shuffling of sentence parts, shuffling of sentences in a passage, cloze passage & comprehension passage.

SSC CHSL 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility of SSC CHSL 2021 depends upon a number of factors such as

  • Educational Qualification
  • Age

The first two conditions are rigid however, in the last condition, relaxation is provided on the basis of the category to which the candidate belongs to.

SSC CHSL 2021 Nationality

  • A candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidate can be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
  • A candidate can be Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A person of Indian origin, who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSCCHSL 2021 Educational Qualification

Candidate applying for SSC CHSL must have passed class 12 from recognized board/university or any equivalent degree. Candidate applying for the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India should have completed class 12 in the science stream with mathematics as one of the subjects.

SSC CHSL 2021 Age Limit

General Category: A candidate must have attained a minimum age of 18 years and should not be more than 27 years old.

SSC CHSL 2021 Exam Pattern

SSC CHSL 2021 Exam is held in 3 phases:

  • Tier I: Computer-based(objective-type)
  • Tier II: Descriptive type
  • Tier III: Typing/Skill test 

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern

Type: Objective-type Exam

Mode: It is an online exam(computer-based)

Sections: The tier-1 exam consists of 4 sections:

  • Section 1- General Intelligence.
  • Section 2- English Language.
  • Section 3- Quantitative Aptitude.
  • Section 4- General Awareness/General Knowledge.

The tier-1 exam will consist of 100 questions of 2 marks each, thus the maximum marks the candidate can get in the paper is 200. 0.5 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Candidate has 60 minutes to complete the paper.  

Candidate can answer the questions in two languages i.e Hindi and English. This is applicable to all sections except the 2nd section as it will be only in the English language.

SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern

The paper would be descriptive type in Tier 2 and will be conducted offline and will be Pen and Paper-based. The time given is the same as Tier 1 i.e 60 minutes. The total marks for this exam will be 100.

In this exam, the candidate has to at least score 33 marks out of 100, to be eligible for Tier 3 Exam.

SSC CHSL Tier 3 Exam Pattern

Tier III will be a skill test/typing test exam. Candidate must have the data entry speed of about 8000 key depressions per hour. Duration of the exam will be only 15 minutes and printed matter in English should contain 2000-2200 strokes.

For the post of Data Entry Operator Grade A in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), the duration of the exam is same which is 15 minutes. But the data entry speed expected for this post is 15000 key depressions per hour on Computer.

A printed matter in English for about 3700-4000 key depressions would be given to the candidates. The selection criteria will vary for each and every post.

SSC CHSL Question Type

  • Tier 1 paper will contain Multiple-choice Questions(MCQs). 
  • Tier 2 and Tier 3 will be of descriptive type.

SSC CHSL Marking Scheme

Tier 1

For each correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 2 marks and for each wrong answer, 0.5 marks will be deducted.

Tier 2

Since the paper will be descriptive, there's no fixed marking scheme. The candidates will be evaluated based on the quality of the content in the paper.

  • Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds and Graphs of Linear Equations
  • Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Circle, and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles
  • Mensuration: Problems based on any of Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Hemispheres, Right Prism, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Triangle, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base, Sphere
  • Trigonometry: Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances and Standard Identities like sin2 + Cos2 =1

General Intelligence

The  General Intelligence section of the Tier-I syllabus of the SSC CHSL 2021 Exam contains following topics and sub-topics.

  • Analogy: Questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Trends, and Figural Analogy
  • Numerical Series: Questions on Semantic Series, Number Series, and Figural Series
  • Syllogism: These are the problems in which you have to make conclusions based on 2-3 statements given. It can be done easily through Venn diagrams
  • Direction and Ranking: Basically, an array of statements is given and the candidate has to find the resulting direction
  • Non-verbal Reasoning: Questions based on Paper Cutting, Cubes and Dice, Grouping of Images and Figure Matrix
  • Miscellaneous: Odd One Out, Coding and decoding, Embedded figures, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, etc.

General English

The Tier-I syllabus of the SSC CHSL 2021 Exam has a General English section having the following topics and sub-topics. 

  • English Language: Questions will be related to the English Language. Topics like Spot the Error, fill in the Blanks, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage will be asked
  • Vocabulary: Questions will be from topics like Synonyms/ Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting misspelt words, Idioms & Phrases, and One-word substitution
  • Grammar: Questions will be on Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration
  • Reading Comprehension: Based on the comprehension passage given, some questions will be asked. The answers should be passage-specific

Tier - II

Tier II is a descriptive type(pen-paper based) of the exam which measures candidates writing skills.

  • Letter to present views on the effect of digitalization on the youth of today

Tier - III

  • Tier III of SSC CHSL 2021 Exam would be the skill/ typing test. This test would be of qualifying nature. It means candidates just have to clear a decided cut off and merit list will not depend on this score.

  • Skill Test/Typing test is according to the post for which the candidate is applying.

  • Data Entry Speed should be 8,000 Key Depressions per hour on Computer. It means the candidate has to roughly type 22-24 words per minute.

  • For the post of Data Entry Operator in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) a speed Test of minimum 15000 keys depressions per hour for data entry work. This is calculated based on the speed test on the computer. The 15000 key depressions are equal to 50 words per minute.
